For the past five years, (MWC) – Modern Widows Club® | The Movement for Widow Care has had the honor of awarding our Legacy Award to one extraordinary individual annually—someone who goes above and beyond to empower widows and their families worldwide. These honorees exemplify the highest standards of excellence, embodying virtue, humility, compassion, strength, and the essence of heroic leadership.

For 2024, we were deeply honored to present this extraordinary award to Deborah Marshall, Sr. VP of AmFund | American Fundraising Foundation, in recognition of her lifetime achievements both personally and professionally. As a special bonus, we had the joy of celebrating not only her accomplishments but also her birthday, making the occasion even more meaningful and memorable.

Our joy was made even greater by the presence of AmFund’s co-founders, Barbara and Wade West, joined us at the Heathrow Legacy Club in Heathrow, FL (Orlando) for a truly meaningful luncheon. Words cannot fully express how grateful we are for their support and the profound difference they continue to make in the lives of so many.

**A New Tradition of Celebration**

In previous years, we presented the Legacy Award to recipients either remotely via Zoom or in person whenever possible. However, this year, we embraced a new tradition—a luncheon gathering—so that others could join us in celebrating these remarkable honorees and witness firsthand the extraordinary efforts being made to advance widow support as a global cause.

This shift reflects our deep commitment to building community, raising awareness, and recognizing the immense value of this work. It’s more than just an award—it’s a movement fueled by dedication, resilience, and the belief that empowering widows is a cause truly worth championing.

**A Journey of Hope and Adventure to KEY WEST**

At our event, we were delighted to award the chance to win Ultimate Key West Trip, a 4 day/ 3 night getaway generously provided by AmFund. The winner was selected by Morgan L., who designed this incredible travel package for two.
