Today in the United States, 547,000 dependent children are being raised by widowed mothers, while 159,000 children are in the care of widowed fathers who are stepping into both parental roles.
These widowed parents represent one of the most underserved and overlooked groups globally. Despite their profound grief, they manage the immense challenge of solo parenting children who are also grieving.
This Valentine’s Day marks my 25th Angelversary—the day my spouse passed. From the very beginning, I’ve been a widow advocate for family support, witnessing firsthand the profound ripple effect it has on countless families, including my own.
