Widowhood Needs a James 1:27 Revival

Caring for the fatherless and the widows...let's focus on the later.

There is nothing more relevant for Christians than the scripture of James 1:27 in the Bible mandating believers to practice their faith while centering their efforts - "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after #orphans and #widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Yet, #Florida (the state I live in) which is the 4th largest state in the 3rd largest country for widows per capita has zero appropriations or support agencies or awareness for the 914K #widow citizens at the Florida Department of Children and Families, or the Florida Department of Elder Affairs or the Florida Governor's Faith and Community Initiative.

The Faith and Community Initiative was created in 2019 (pre-pandemic) to bring faith communities the support they need to serve vulnerable communities, create an open line of communication and enhance care for children through collaboration.
